Postpaid platform support: what does it mean?

Posted by Jennifer Shin on May 13, 2015 8:43:00 AM

When you mention MVNOs to people (well, maybe not consumers, but certainly industry professionals) “cheap-rate, prepaid cellphone service” might generally come to mind. The thought of a postpaid service model would cause some potential mobile service providers to pause and think, “is that a good idea?” A postpaid business strategy provides more challenges and possibly more problems to both the front end and back office. But it also offers some distinct advantages, such as better customer retention because postpaid subscribers have made a provider choice based on services beyond just cheap rates. It can also mean subscriber contracts, which can provide greater subscriber base stability over time.
